DRIVER SUPERVISOR - LEAD DRIVER, Calgary, AB

Pit Stop Portables is currently seeking our newest Super Hero as a Driver Supervisor \ Lead Driver for our Calgary branch.

The position will be directly responsible for the delivery and execution of the daily operational requirements, while overseeing a staff of 7 Permanent Drivers, Yard Staff and seasonal event staff. The successful candidate must possess and maintain a Clean Class 1 or 3 driver’s license, where responsibilities will include delivering an exceptional customer experience, while continuously monitoring and coaching his or her direct reports. He or she will also be responsible for ensuring all inventoried assets and consumable supplies are maintained in accordance with expected standards of the organization. The following outlines the additional job requirements for this role:

• Ensure all productivity targets are met, through detailed analysis
• Provides effective leadership and coaching to all direct reports and ensure company’s values are being carried out
• Daily observational assessments of Yard Persons, Drivers, and Trailer Technicians
• Ability to operate Roll Off, Septic, Pump trucks and Washroom trailers while executing Customer Deliverables
• Ensure all routes are efficient, profitable, minimize overtime, provide a high level of customer service, and minimize any operational risks
• Coordinate with Dispatchers for scheduling of Drivers to meet regular service and event requirements and coordinate event teams for large events and booking
• Review resources (maps, load in/strike schedules) with event staff to successfully execute events
• Conduct on Road Observations – focusing on Driving, Safety, Quality Control, Service and cleanliness of the vehicle
• Address all driver concerns\requirements and monitor pre and post trips, track deployment time
• Ensure all employees use designated safety equipment and safety apparel and enforce the Dress Code and Appearance Policy
• Manage and address absenteeism and attendance (verify that the absenteeism policy is being followed and all routes have proper coverage)
• Documents and maintains records required by regulatory agencies such as the Ministry of Transportation and OSHA
• Ensure that all Customer Service issues are addressed, investigate complaints regarding missed stops or other service problems and resolve in a timely manner
• Maintain a high standard of customer service to the service footprints
• Manage driver and yard staff requests and address any safety/customer issues
• Direct involvement in all aspect of the Incident management process – conduct root cause investigations for all injuries and incidents, ensuring consistent disciplinary actions are taken
• Train new hires and ensure all training provided meets industry/governments standards
• Inventory control of yard assets including weekly physical inventory counts on toilets, bins and parts
• Consumables monitoring and ordering based on inventory counts and also on an as needed basis
• Ordering of Personal Protective Equipment, cleaning supplies, and other items as required to enable drivers and yard staff to effectively perform their duties
• Management of yard staff with daily priority assignments to the staff then setting expectations and monitoring the completions of tasks with particular attention to quality of work
• Managing, organizing, and segregating the yard to maximize space and ensure all assets and tools are stored as required for future use
• Coordinate with Mechanics and Dispatchers regarding fleet availability and operational needs
• Requisition of consumables and cleaning supplies through authorized vendors

DISPATCH ASSISTANT - Coquitlam, BC

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES As a confident and personable individual, the Dispatch Assistant is responsible to support the operations department in meeting our customer’s expectations, while ensuring the highest efficiency is maintained with both our fleet and drivers.  The Dispatch Assistant will ensure all daily drivers paperwork is collected and  is accurately processed to ensure our systems are up to date and correct information is in place for the benefit of both our customers and internal requirements. The following outlines the additional job requirements for this role;

Leadership \ Team Member:

  • Provide strong support to the entire team in providing “Clean, Dependable Service!” for all or our Customers.
  • Maintains the highest standard of customer service, with the ability to represent the organization in a positive corporate image
  • Ensure company’s values are being carried out

Routing:

  • Assist with the Pre-planning and set up dispatch requirements for next business day, where required
  • Assist in Routing all new services for all lines of business
  • Complete all routes in a timely manner with route audit reports attached
  • Print and distribute all routes for drivers

Driver Accountability:

  • Investigate and report customer issues, detailing all customer communication within company database (TRUX)
  • Follow up with Dispatcher daily to ensure all routes are sequenced properly
  • Work closely with drivers to ensure site information is up to date and correct to ensure route efficiencies are maintained
  • Ensure all driver paperwork is completed daily in full

Customer Service:

  • Develop and build customer and employee relationships while maintaining a high standard of customer service to the region/area
  • Support the Customer Service and Sales team as requested from the Customer Service Manager

Safety \ Training :

  • Report any safety issues to the Operations Manager for follow up
  • Help train new drivers with tablets, routing, and daily duties

Inventory Management \ Events:

  • Keep stock of required forms as required (pre-trips, customer specific forms, etc.)
  • Support the purchasing process for proper inventory quantities to support regular and event business
  • Work with event sales team to ensure details are correctly entered into Trux.

Admin:

  • Oversee the proper use of fuel cards
  • Label all keys for routes as required
  • Update reports weekly (Weekly Toilet Count)
  • Update Trux to reflect new drivers, fuel rates, trucks, etc.
  • Enter Timecard information into Excel for Payroll Processing

Key Performance Indicators:

  • Driver Satisfaction Rating (gathered through questionnaire)
  • Accuracy of data input (tested by manager spot checking monthly)
  • Customer Service team satisfaction rating (gathered through questionnaire)
  • Successfully meeting prescribed deadlines (tracked by the manager)

OUTSIDE SALES - Coquitlam, BC

OUTSIDE SALES 

As a confident and personable member of the Sales & Customer Experience Team you will serve as a brand ambassador for Pit Stop’s products and services out in the field.

The Sales & Customer Experience Specialists are responsible for following call center policy and procedures including meeting call center standards, employee sales, improving quality service (Customer Excellence) and accomplishing organizational goals.

The role will be focused on growing our business and will be responsible for becoming experts in identifying challenges that our existing and prospective customers face and work collaboratively with the team to execute strategies to secure and close new business while providing our Customers with the best experience possible.

  • Maintain a high standard of customer service to the region/area
  • Learn and ensure Company’s values are being carried out
  • Participate in sales growth; to existing customers and new business; including but not limited to construction, industrial, commercial, rural and longer term rental opportunities
  • Full understanding of company database (Trux)
  • Maintain an understanding of all company’s products and services and become a subject matter expert
  • Completion of requests for quote and customer service agreements with detailed notes and follow up until lead has been established as completed (sale executed or not interested)
  • Respond to a variety of customer requests, special instructions and inquiries in a timely manner including but not limited to coordinating pickups and deliveries for customers via inbound calls and email
  • Investigate and resolve customer issues
  • Enter all pertinent information into company database for all new orders, changes to existing or changes with a customers profile along with detailed notes of all communication with customers within company database

Reporting

· Mopping, sweeping, wiping down surfaces, etc

· Exterior washing with pressure washer

· Regular maintenance shop floor cleaning

· Tool and hose cleaning

· Perimeter of building debris collection and cleaning

· Inventory controls

· Window washing

· Pressure washing portable plastic toilets

· Minor repairs

YARD PERSON - (Lower Mainland & Calgary location)

Reports to Operations Supervisor

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES

As a confident and personable individual, the yard person is responsible for efficiently maintaining the yard. In addition to maintaining the yard he or she is required to manage, assess, repair and pressure wash and clean portable toilets and acquire a good understanding of the company inventory control process. This role requires a dynamic person who can embrace change and effectively provide support to other lines of the business. The following outlines the additional job requirements for this role;

Duties include:

· Preparing portable toilets for delivery, pressure washing as required, repairing of units e.g. replace Hand Sani Dispenser (Rivets), Toilet Seats, Remove Graffiti & Fixing Doors.

· Cleaning of the interior and exterior of the executive washroom trailer fleet

· Mopping, sweeping, wiping down surfaces, etc

· Exterior washing with pressure washer

· Regular maintenance shop floor cleaning

· Tool and hose cleaning

· Perimeter of building debris collection and cleaning

· Asset Inventory controls

· Window washing

· Daily inspections of yard, picking up lose debris, maintaining general cleanliness.

· Sweeping and washing the yard and the shop floor.

· Segregating the yard, ensuring all assets are all in their designated area

· Operate a forklift in the yard while maintaining all yard inventory and supplies

The position is full time. Work Schedule will be Monday to Friday, with seasonal overtime required on weekends. This position requires you to work outdoors in various elements of weather.

PUMP TRUCK DRIVER - (Lower Mainland & Calgary location)

Reports to Operations Supervisor and Operations Manager

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES

As a confident and personable individual, the pump truck driver is responsible for safely operating a heavy-duty septic/vacuum truck to perform assigned duties on designated routes. This position is responsible for efficiently servicing assigned customers, while complying with all local, provincial, and federal transportation regulations and with company policies. The following outlines the additional job requirements for this role;

 

As a confident and personable individual, the pump truck driver is responsible for safely operating a heavy-duty septic/vacuum truck to perform assigned duties on designated routes. This position is responsible for efficiently servicing assigned customers, while complying with all local, provincial, and federal transportation regulations and with company policies. The following outlines the additional job requirements for this role;

· Performing Pre- and Post- trip vehicle inspections of assigned vehicle

· Operating a septic vacuum service vehicle while servicing portable toilets throughout a designated route.

· Services the portable toilet units as per the following companies expectations;

o All units MUST be delivered to customer sites with decals on all 4 sides

o When instructed, units going as stock must be stock. VIP or EVENTS (sink) units are NOT to be delivered to construction sites unless instructed otherwise. Must be included on Paper work.

o If you know of units that are improper, please notify dispatcher so that we can arrange for them to be switched out.

o We should never ever deliver a dirty unit to a customer’s site.

o Units must be cleaned & sprayed each time

o Graffiti removal

o Exchanges on damaged units or really bad units

o Repairing of units on site e.g. replace Hand Sani Dispenser (Rivets), Toilet Seats, Remove Graffiti & Fixing Doors

o Do not leave paper on decks as it ends up on the floor or in the tank

o Do not leave “Hand Sani Bag Refills” on decks as it ends up on the floor, stolen or in the tank. Make sure you check instructions on cover sheet and/or if it requires a Hand Sani Bag Refill (if the sanitizer is broken, different make or doesn’t work) replace the Hand Sanitizer with a riveter and include a new bag refill.Possessing an excellent knowledge of the city and its surrounding area.

· Assessing routes and making sound decisions on prioritizing and tasks to efficiently service customers.

· Ensuring the highest quality of service to all customers

· Following route assignments throughout the day and completing all documents while checking in at the end of the shift.

· Communicating with dispatch throughout the day

· Ensuring that all safety policies and procedures are being followed i.e. having proper PPE, ensuring the vehicle is equipped with the proper equipment such as a dolly and straps.

· Following the company absenteeism policy

· To safely operate our vehicles on the highway with a professional attitude and obey posted speed limits;

· To drive in a defensive manner, be aware of surroundings and look ahead, leave a safe distance between vehicles, be a professional and courteous driver;

· To keep the vehicle under control at all times and reduce speed due to changes in road, weather and traffic conditions;

· As a professional driver he or she should be prepared to avoid collision producing situations by practicing and promoting safe driving skills;

· He or she must report all significant events on road including but not limited to, any incidents/accidents, violations, near misses, site safety issues etc.
