ICBC requires a specific driver’s license for towing an RV exceeding 4,600 kg.
Drivers are required to have a House Trailer Endorsement (Code 07) on their license to legally tow a trailer over 4,600 kg (10,141 lbs) GVW. Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) is the combined weight of the trailer and load – propane, water, toys and all. If your vehicle then exceeds the 4,600 kg limit, the operator of the vehicle must pass a knowledge test, practice with a learner’s license and pass a road test.
