PUMP TRUCK DRIVER - Coquitlam, BC

Pump Truck Driver

As a confident and personable individual, the pump truck driver is responsible for safely operating a heavy-duty septic/vacuum truck to perform assigned duties on designated routes. This position is responsible for efficiently servicing assigned customers, while complying with all local, provincial, and federal transportation regulations and with company policies.

What your day will look like:

  • Performing Pre- and Post- trip vehicle inspections of assigned vehicle
  • Operating a septic vacuum service vehicle while servicing portable toilets throughout a designated route.
  • Follow routes assignments and make sound decisions on prioritizing tasks
  • Ensuring the highest quality of service to all customers
  • Complete all documents while checking in at the end of the shift
  • Communicate with dispatch throughout the day
  • Ensure that all safety policies and procedures are being followed i.e. having proper PPE, ensuring the vehicle is equipped with the proper equipment such as a dolly and straps.
  • Safely operate our vehicles with a professional attitude, obey posted speed limits, and be a courteous driver
  • Keep the vehicle under control at all times and reduce speed due to changes in road, weather and traffic conditions
  • Report all significant events on road including but not limited to, any incidents/accidents, violations, near misses, site safety issues, etc.

What you’ll bring to the table:

  • Work experience in the portable toilet or waste service industry (preferred)
  • Excellent knowledge of the city and surrounding area
  • Clean drivers abstract
  • Exceptional customer service skills

Qualifications

  • Class 5 drivers license (with Air Endorsement preferred)
  • Clean drivers abstract (30 days or newer)

Reporting to the Vice President, you are a skilled Leader responsible for the effective and efficient management and coordination of all aspects of Pit Stop Portables Day to Day Operations in B.C. What your day will look like:

Working with your direct reports you are responsible for managing the activities for the Operations Dept to assure that efficiencies, safety and best practices are followed. This includes:

  • Motivate and lead your team by actively listening, problem solving, and responding flexibly and creatively to new challenges
  • Present new and innovative ideas for change by collaborating with all departments to achieve targeted business results
  • Develop strategies to ensure that Operations meet the company’s growing requirements
  • Manage and control departmental expenditures within agreed budgets.

  • Managing Pit Stop’s fleet of trucks ensuring maintained, planned and managed to meet daily operational requirements

This position services our customers by selling our products, developing and managing the ongoing relationships with our clients and our potential new clients/prospects.  You’re an “A” Player looking to drive revenue and build an admired Brand.  You lead through action, delivering on your commitments and ensuring we leave every customer with a sense of “WOW”.  You will be responsible for becoming an expert in identifying challenges that our prospective customers face and work collaboratively with the team to execute strategies to secure and close business.

What your day will look like:

  • Manage existing account and those secured by your role.

Flex Driver

As a confident and personable individual, the pump truck driver is responsible for safely operating a heavy-duty septic/vacuum truck to perform assigned duties on designated routes. This position is responsible for efficiently servicing assigned customers, while complying with all local, provincial, and federal transportation regulations and with company policies.

What your day will look like:

  • Performing Pre- and Post- trip vehicle inspections of assigned vehicle
  • Working closely with route Manager to improve route efficiencies
  • Following route assignments throughout the day and completes all documentation when checking in at the end of the route
  • Providing customer service in the field
  • Servicing portable toilets on a service route
  • Servicing roll off bins on a service route
  • Delivering and removing portable toilets and executive washroom trailers
  • Operating different types of equipment as required (flat deck trucks, trailers, small vacuum service trucks, and roll off trucks)
  • Providing exceptional customer service skills
  • Ensuring that all safety policy and procedures are being followed i.e. proper PPE, ensuring the vehicle is equipped with the proper equipment, etc.
