ROUTING SPECIALIST - Coquitlam, BC

Routing Specialist

A Routing Specialist (RS) is responsible for both macro and micro routing of waste collection services using investigative and computer-assisted routing techniques/programs to achieve department related goals and operation efficiencies. In addition, the RS will obtain facts through an automatic vehicle locating system, on-board fleet management system, perform self-conducted time studies, analyze data, and make decisions or take actions to correct unbalanced routes or to change the type of collection service in a designated area
Distinguishing Features: Incumbents work independently and must have the ability to prioritize their workload to meet continuous demands associated with the completion of simultaneous projects and requests. This class is supervised by the Operations Manager who reviews work through meetings, reports, inspections, and results achieved.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Qualifications Required. Any combination of training, education, and experience equivalent to considerable (3 – 5 years) experience (preferably field operating experience).
Preferred/Desirable Qualifications. Prior routing experience preferred. Excellent computer skills and proficiency with the Microsoft Office software (example: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook), GPS tracking software and/or Trux Waste Industry Business Solutions is highly desirable. Ability to analyze vast amounts of data, produce accurate data, and demonstrate problem-solving skills. Must work well independently and as part of a team.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Communication: Communicates ideas and recommendations verbally and through written reports. Produces written documents with clearly organized thoughts. Comprehends and makes inferences from written materials. Communicates with staff when new routes are established and updates route maps as needed. Communicates with the Customers when route collection days or times significantly change.
Responds to questions or concerns from the Customers regarding route changes or collection conversions. Instructs and trains personnel on designated routes and increased production techniques. Answers customer service inquiries as needed.

Analyzes data to develop optimized routing systems and employs work measurement techniques. Assists in evaluating the performance of operators to ensure established production and service levels are maintained. Prioritizes assignments to ensure work is completed within appropriate timelines.

KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES
Knowledge of:
Geographical areas in which the Company operates in. (Greater Vancouver / Fraser Valley areas)
Equipment, tools, and materials used in the collection of waste; collection routes (operational knowledge); proper use and operation of office equipment including personal computer, voice mail, fax, calculator, copier, etc.; and database, word processing, spreadsheet, routing, and mainframe software.

Ability to:
Determine what equipment, tools, resources, and materials will be needed to complete assigned projects; respond to customers by addressing concerns, answering questions regarding waste services, advise personnel of proper service days for any given route and material to be collected; work with routing software and on board fleet management system for designing and adjusting collection routes; design optimum collection routes; design new routes and regularly adjust routes as needed to maintain accuracy and optimization of production and balance; maintain approximately 30 routes; assist in monitoring production levels of route drivers to ensure optimum production/customer service; determine the most efficient routing considering all variables, (example: number and location of stops for the day, travel time, pickup time, and fuel expended.

Facilities:
Order and maintain adequate supplies for assigned duties; promote/enforce all policies and procedures; recommend procedural changes to improve employee safety and productivity; form problem solving teams, as needed; coordinate and direct numerous teams of operators who must complete their work independently from one another; work overtime, as needed, and take part in special activities, such as meetings; and establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers and others.

Sales & Customer Experience Specialist

The Sales & Customer Experience Specialists are responsible for following call center policy and procedures including meeting call center standards, employee sales, improving quality service (Customer Excellence) and accomplishing organizational goals.

The role will be focused on growing our business and will be responsible for becoming experts in identifying challenges that our existing and prospective customers face and work collaboratively with the team to execute strategies to secure and close new business while providing our Customers with the best experience possible.

Our products are portable washroom facilities, executive washroom trailers, septic holding tanks, roll-off waste containers and various add on items.

What your day will look like:

· Work directly with customers via telephone (incoming & outgoing calls), and email to describe products and/or services in order to persuade potential and current customers to purchase new products and/or services

· Educate customers on product offerings and services

· Follow up with customer via telephone or email following initial sales contact

· Identify customer issues and provides appropriate solutions via upsell of additional products and/or services and obtain customer commitment/ signoff.

· Meet departmental sales goals consistently

· Complete continuous product education to improve customer service

· Maintain accurate daily record of sales in sales tracker.

PUMP TRUCK DRIVER - Coquitlam, BC

Pump Truck Driver

As a confident and personable individual, the pump truck driver is responsible for safely operating a heavy-duty septic/vacuum truck to perform assigned duties on designated routes. This position is responsible for efficiently servicing assigned customers, while complying with all local, provincial, and federal transportation regulations and with company policies.

What your day will look like:

  • Performing Pre- and Post- trip vehicle inspections of assigned vehicle
  • Operating a septic vacuum service vehicle while servicing portable toilets throughout a designated route.
  • Follow routes assignments and make sound decisions on prioritizing tasks
  • Ensuring the highest quality of service to all customers
  • Complete all documents while checking in at the end of the shift
  • Communicate with dispatch throughout the day

Delivery Truck Driver

As a confident and personable individual, the Roll Off truck driver is responsible for safely operating a heavy-duty Roll Off truck to perform assigned duties on designated routes. This position is responsible for efficiently servicing assigned customers, while complying with all local, provincial, and federal transportation regulations and with company policies.

What your day will look like:

  • Possessing a valid Class 1 or 3 with air breaks driving license
  • Operating a single axel and or tandem/tridem Roll Off vehicle while servicing Roll Off containers throughout a designated route. Service includes delivery, service and removal of roll of containers based on the customer needs.
  • Performing Pre- and Post- trip vehicle inspections of assigned vehicle
  • Following proper loading, dumping and unloading procedures.
  • Ensure the cargo securement policy is being followed.
  • Possessing an excellent knowledge of the city and its surrounding area.

MECHANIC HELPER - Calgary, AB

Mechanic Helper – Part-Time

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining our preventative maintenance program, repair, and diagnosis of our truck and trailer fleet.

Safety is key in our business and the maintenance team plays a crucial role in maintaining both personal and vehicle safety. The Mechanics Helper is an entry-level position used primarily for performing preventative maintenance services on all equipment and performing minor repairs that they are qualified to perform. Training for this individual will be provided along with establishing the company safety culture, housekeeping and team expectations. Experience and working with other power tools and some welding would be an asset.
